Triangle Windows – What blinds are available

Blinds for triangular windows can be a bit trickier to find and install compared to standard rectangular windows, but there are several options available:

1. Custom Cellular (Honeycomb) Shades

  • Cellular shades can be custom-made to fit triangular windows. These shades provide good insulation and come in various configurations.

2. Roller Blinds 

  • For triangular windows, we can only offer bottom up configuration for equilateral triangles.

3. Vertical Blinds

  • Although vertical blinds are traditionally used for wide windows, they can be adapted for triangular shapes. The slats can be custom cut to fit the window, though this is less common and might not be ideal for every type of triangle.

4. Plantation Shutters for triangle windows

  • Custom Shutters: Plantation or custom shutters can be made to fit triangular windows. These offer a classic look and good light control. They are usually custom-built to the exact shape and dimensions of your window.

5. Window Film

Ensure that the installation doesn’t obstruct the operation of either type of blind.  Here we have a sunscreen mounted to the inside of a window and the roman mounted to the external face of the window.  We prefer with romans to make sure when the Roman Blind is open there is no loss of window.  Here we have mounted both romans 300mm above and they are in the same visual sight line.
  4. Measurement and Installation: Accurate measurements are crucial. Ensure that both types of blinds fit the window frame properly and that one does not interfere with the operation of the other.

  • Use: These are particularly useful for improving energy efficiency in a home, as they help maintain a stable indoor temperature by reducing heat loss in winter and keeping the heat out in summer.  It provided more flexibility than day/night honeycombs in that both blinds are in the one headbox and can both be lowered increasign the thermal effeciecnies of your honeycomb blinds.
